2011 NFA Competition WINNER

“Mélange”, meaning a hodge-podge of different things, and “Neumes”, being
medieval predecessors to our modern notation system, combined to create an
innovative, four-movement work for flute choir: March (Scandicus), Slow
(Climacus), Waltz (Torculus), and Very Fast (Porrectus). A wonderful new
addition to a program! Scored for 8-part flute choir: Piccolo, 4 C flutes,
2 alto flutes, and bass flute.
