Loading... Please wait...Welcome to the first quarterly newsletter of the new ALRY Publications! The celebration of buying and continuing ALRY has given way to the hard work of updating the catalog. Over the last three months, we have spent hundreds of hours formatting and re-engraving many pieces, yet, there are still hundreds more to go. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this transition and are very pleased with the overwhelming positive response we are getting about the new format. We are excited that our current composers and arrangers have decided to stay with ALRY and we look forward to some new releases from them in the coming months. In addition to all of this, we continue to receive many new submissions from brand new composers and arrangers around the world. Just a reminder, the deadline for submissions is March 31st (for release in June).
Our first show of the new year will be at the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. We will be highlighting new releases by Stephen Lias and Rob Hutchinson. You might recognize Stephen’s name, as his flute choir composition Mélange a Neumes was a winner of the Newly Published Music Competition for the National Flute Association in 2011. Although ALRY has been selling saxophone music for well over ten years, we are very much interested in expanding this part of our catalog. We are open to receiving new submissions for saxophone at any time.
We are looking forward to our upcoming appearances this April at the Seattle Flute Society and Greater Portland Flute Society Flute Festivals. If you are in attendance, please stop by the booth and say hello! Over the past few months I have really noticed how interconnected the music world is, so I look forward to making even more connections.
Now that things have settled down a little bit, we have had the chance to put together a couple of special promotions for our customers. The first one offers free shipping on all of our CD recordings. The recordings contain performances of many of the pieces available on our website. There is no limit to the number of CDs you can buy and no coupon code is required.
The second promotion highlights a collaboration with Catherine McMichael celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Floris, her first composition published by ALRY. Floris was the winner of the Newly Published Music Competition at the 1995 NFA Convention. This newly re-engraved edition combines all five movements: Trillium, Baby’s Breath Toddle, Lily Pond, Snowdrops, and Calla. Previously, these were only available for purchase separately. We had custom artwork created for the cover to celebrate this anniversary edition. The complete set now sells for only $29. From now until June 30, when purchasing Floris in addition to any other music, enter coupon code FLORIS at checkout and shipping charges will be free for the entire order.
We appreciate the continued support from all of our customers and dealers. We hope that you are pleased with the new online shopping experience. We are looking forward to a great 2012 and seeing many of you at our upcoming shows.
Matt Johnston
